Mid-sized Cities Get Hip to Attract YP's

In the staid Bankers Club, young men and women mix it up with powerbrokers over beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres. Establishment luminaries work the room to welcome the twentysomethings to their inner sanctum.

About Us

Incepted in July of 2006, the Young Professionals Network was an idea obtained from a National Chamber of Commerce conference that President & CEO Marvin Jones attended.  Coincidentally, there are several members of the Chamber Executive Board that are considered 'young professionals' that he charged with getting this group off the ground.

YPN welcomes individuals ages 21-45 in any professional aspect of their lives; meaning we also embrace those 'young at heart' and would never turn anyone away that wants to be involved, regardless of age! Examples of attendees are students, part-time employees, business owners, new resident's to the area, managers, associates, and anyone who needs to make some quality connections and network.

Costs vary at each meeting but are no more than $5.00 - $10.00 unless there are additional costs involved to the organization. We patronize local venues to hold events and offer current event topics and networking activities to ensure everyone benefits from attending. Since the first meeting, YPN has grown steadily to encompass monthly events and quarterly functions that have proven to be a great outlet for the area's young professional set.

We are proud to say that a YPN Scholarship fund has been established with the help of the Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation. These will be awarded beginning with 2009 Ross County graduates pursuing any post-secondary training or schooling. Visit the Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation website, www.crcf.net for complete scholarship guidelines and information.

The website is constantly updated with upcoming events and information forwarded by YP's. Everyone is encouraged to contribute something; your name and business contact information will be included in each article submitted. Have some interesting information from your industry that you think we could use? Come across a good article in Forbes? NewsWeek? USA Today? After all, knowledge is power and the more we share and learn from each other, the more success can be expected.

We also welcome any ideas for activities! Have you been able to participate in great training or have an idea for an event or activity for YPN to become involved in? Know an establishment that would like to host YPN? LET US KNOW! We want to hear from you!!!

We hope you are able to take advantage of YPN and the opportunities that it lends to our area.
